About the Workshop
Join us for a fun and informative two-day rug hooking class with instructor Debbie, who brings over a decade of experience in this traditional fiber art. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the proper technique of rug hooking—from how to pull loops and work with different types of wool, to understanding backing materials, frame options, and hooking tools.
You’ll also learn how to transfer a pattern from a drawing to backing material and explore the finishing techniques that bring a project together. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a project that is complete or nearly finished, along with the skills and confidence to keep hooking on your own. Whether you’re brand new to rug hooking or looking to refine your technique, this class offers a welcoming space to learn something new. We hope you’ll join us!

How to Register
Please register online, registration with close on May 28th so that we can make sure we have enough supplies for each student.
Before class, students must choose:
- A pattern: Choose from four beginner-friendly options (see images attached), or bring your own 8″x12″ or smaller pattern. If bringing your own, please submit it to Debbie for approval by May 28th to ensure it’s appropriate for the medium and your experience level. Patterns can be emailed to Debbie at omrhguild@gmail.com.
- Wool color: Students need to select the wool colors they will need for their pattern. Debbie will bring several shades in each chosen color for you to pick from during class.
