After months of planning, rehearsing, sewing, painting, building, and promoting — our summer play Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Dad) (Who Messed Them Up) is officially a wrap!
We’re so proud of the cast and crew who brought this hilarious, heartfelt story to life. Even with a surprise illness over the weekend that left one actor unable to perform, the show went on — and we’re especially grateful to our fearless director Kirsten Millingar for stepping into the role at the last minute and absolutely nailing it.
This production wouldn’t have been possible without an incredible team of volunteers. Whether they were sewing costumes, building sets, ushering guests, or wrangling kids backstage, their support made everything run smoothly.
Huge thanks to our volunteers:
Celeste Whitlow, Rita Salerno, Dave Howard, Debbie Howard, Rose Magaw, Nancy Douglas, Theresa Johnson, Linda Thieman, Sara Holmes, Don White, Barbara White, Jennifer Jones, Leo Moore, Becky Beasley, and of course Kirsten Millingar.
Special shoutouts go to:
- Dave Howard for extending the stage, building our wings, and creating two rolling flats for us.
- Celeste Whitlow for costume design, and to both Celeste and Rita Salerno for sewing
- Jennifer, Leo, and Becky for painting our new rolling flats
- Our many front-of-house volunteers who greeted guests, ran concessions, and helped make the audience experience magical
We’d also like to thank our generous sponsors:
- Greenfield Ready Mix
- The Greenfield Vedette
- Casey’s, for treating our cast and crew to pizza during strike
- And Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) for the grant that helped us build out the stage and bring more theater opportunities to our community
Bringing live theater back to Dade County has been a labor of love, and we’re already dreaming of what’s next. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us — we’ll see you again soon!
