Hello, DCA Community!
A Creative Summer to Remember
As summer winds down, we’re looking back with full hearts at two of our biggest events of the season: our summer theater production and our week-long Summer Art Camp.
Our production of Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Dad) (Who Messed Them Up) brought plenty of laughter and applause to the DCA stage August 1–3. We’re so grateful to our talented cast, our director Kirsten Millingar (who even stepped in to perform when illness struck), and our dedicated crew who built sets, sewed costumes, worked the front of house, and kept everything running smoothly. Special thanks to our sponsors — Greenfield Ready Mix, The Greenfield Vedette, and the Springfield Regional Arts Council — for helping us bring the show to life, and to Casey’s for keeping our cast and crew fueled with pizza during strike.
Just a few days later, the DCA Center was buzzing again for Summer Art Camp, where young artists explored a variety of creative mediums over five fun-filled days. From painting and sculpture to fiber arts and mixed media, campers experimented, learned new skills, and proudly displayed their work at the Family Art Show to wrap up the week. The energy, curiosity, and creativity these kids brought into the studio was truly inspiring.
We’re so proud of what our community created together this summer — and we’re already excited for what’s next on the calendar:
