Starting the new year off with great news for DCA, we have received 2 grants to help fund repairs for the building! Huge thanks towards MFA Oil for $2000 which will be used to repair the stairs, and to DACO for $1000 going towards electrical work. A new board member has joined as well, Celeste Whitlow.
Following up with The Sam Spoof Mystery, we had a wonderful attendance of around 200 people across the three performances. Plans will be made for a possible spring performance of a play. If you’d like to be involved with that, please let us know here! Lots of great things are being planned for this year, such as fundraisers for the spring and summer, looking into additional grant opportunities, and building out our schedule of events.
DCA Youth Grant and Scholarship Program
We are thrilled to announce a new initiative aimed at making the arts more accessible to our community’s youth. Our Youth Grant and Scholarship Program is designed to nurture young creativity and ensure that every student has the opportunity to explore and grow through the arts.
About the Youth Grant Program
The Youth Grant provides students ages 7-18 with a one-year membership to DCA. This membership comes with numerous benefits, including discounted rates on all classes and workshops. By reducing financial barriers, we hope to inspire the next generation of artists, makers, and dreamers. For more information on applying for the Youth Grant Program, please visit the Youth Grant Application page.
About the Scholarship Fund
The Scholarship Fund will allow DCA to offer a limited number of free tickets for classes to students in need. This ensures that even those facing financial challenges can participate in our enriching programs. From painting to printmaking, and everything in between, we believe that every young person deserves the chance to create and learn.
For more information or to apply for a Class Scholarship, please visit the Scholarship Application page.
Acknowledging Our Supporters
We couldn’t do this without the generous support of our sponsors. To honor their contributions, all donors to the DCA Youth Scholarship Fund will be recognized on our Tree of Gratitude, a beautiful mural being painted by local artist, Becky Beasley, in our center. This vibrant artwork will serve as a permanent reminder of the community’s commitment to fostering creativity and opportunity for all.
