We had such a great time hosting our two-day Rug Hooking Workshop with the talented Debbie Gillette at Dade County ArtConnect!
Debbie brought years of experience, a great sense of humor, and a treasure trove of wool, frames, and rug hooking tools to share with participants. From first-time hookers to seasoned fiber artists, everyone found inspiration and guidance in Debbie’s detailed instruction.
Participants learned how to pull loops, choose the right backing and wool cuts, transfer patterns, and finish their work — all while chatting, laughing, and admiring each other’s progress. The room was filled with colorful fabric strips, focused hands, and a true sense of community creativity.
Whether stitching flowers, stars, or detailed landscapes, everyone left with a nearly finished piece and the confidence to keep creating.
A big thank you to Debbie and all who joined us — your creativity makes our space feel like home!
